Formal qualifications

Malaika Orphanage

MondoChallenge focuses on getting results, and believe that anyone with enough creativity, energy, experience or education can achieve them. Of course, if you are qualified in the area in which you want to volunteer this is a huge advantage (for example, having a TEFL certificate if you want to teach abroad). We offer teacher training courses if you feel that you need some support in developing your skills before you go (for more information, see the details on the teaching training page).

Business development projects

For all of our business development projects we do require a certain level of experience: ideally you should have worked for 4 or more years in a relevant post. We have opportunities for people with specific skills, such as IT, finance or marketing. To see our business development projects, click here.

Age

Most or our volunteers are over 20 (in fact, the average age is 32) but in some locations we accept a limited number of younger people aged 18+. We have a minimum age of 22 in our African programmes. We do not have a maximum age limit in place, as an increasing number of our volunteers are retired. As long as you are fit and healthy, there will be no problem.

More information

There is a list of frequently asked questions (click this link) that covers the main issues encountered by potential volunteers. If you need any more information, please don't hesitate to contact us using the enquiry form.
