Travel with a family member - be it your partner, parents or children - can be extremely rewarding. MondoChallenge volunteers have often travelled as a couple or a family and in our view, the opportunity to make a difference, experience a varied culture, explore a new country, is more enriching when shared with a family member.
MondoChallenge encourages families to volunteer together as we believe common experiences build bonds. We also understand that costs add up for a family and budgets are important to manage. We have designed our 'family package' keeping this in mind. So now when you travel with another family member, the second member will get a 30% discount on the cost of their programme. So, take this opportunity and ask a family member to join in and have an unforgettable experience together.
If travelling with family is fun, so is travelling with friends. If you have friends with similar interests and wanting to volunteer abroad together, MondoChallenge helps you with a special offer.
Travel with a friend and get £50 each off the programme cost.
If you have volunteered with MondoChallenge and wish to refer a friend, go ahead since you get £50 for each person you refer.
If you are interested in volunteering for two different projects - either in the same country or in completely different continents, avail this wonderful offer. Choose your projects and get 25% off towards the cost of your subsequent programme.
You have volunteered with our projects and helped make a difference. If you like to visit the same project or any other project - we believe it will add immense value to our projects and to you. If you are a Mondo volunteer and want to return, we offer you 1/3rd off the cost towards your programme!
The contribution you make helps us provide:
1. A range of carefully selected projects - We now work with over 100 local partner organisations across 9 countries and 21 locations and have over time deployed the capability to identify, select and monitor projects to partner with
2. Programme advice and guidance - Through a UK based team that has a wide range of knowledge, experience of different countries and volunteer opportunities to enable individuals to make the right choice on where they would like to volunteer and what they would like to do.
3. In-country support - To enable you to settle into life in an overseas country and contribute to your chosen project
4. Sustainable development through regular volunteers on the programme - With pre-identified volunteer roles and agreed areas of need with local organisations, we are able to see how the work our volunteers do makes a difference to the community we work with.
MondoChallenge is a professional organisation and we believe in ethical volunteering. For us, the motto 'People first, Money second' governs all aspects of the work we do. Keeping this in mind, all internal costs are kept to a minimal. This ensures that we provide a great service to you and are sustainable at the same time.

The volunteer contribution covers everything from staff wages to office overheads, admin costs, promotions, staff travel and in project support.
UK overheads are as low as can be managed, commensurate with assuring a top level of service to new applicants, existing and past volunteers, and to our partners in 9 countries abroad. Based in the Town Hall in Newbury (no high priced London offices!), most contact is carried out via the internet, with meetings either at our offices or in London to meet UK-based candidates and extensive phone calls to interview candidates from abroad. We have a small promotional budget, incur web maintenance and development costs and the normal admin charges that go with running operations abroad.
The HQ team is currently six people who, to cope with the growth in programmes and volunteer numbers, are usually in the office from 08.00 to 19.00 or later. They don't mind the hours; its exhilarating and satisfying work and the practical results are evident to all.
In addition, we have an overseas team who supervise the programmes in each country in which we operate. These managers need the level of support (telephones, travel, and office costs) which is required to run the operation and give full backup to the volunteers in their care.
We have also recently founded the FutureSense Foundation, a registered charity set up to support our volunteers on the ground. For more information, please see the FutureSense Foundation section of this website. All of the admin work for the charity is carried out by the same team as outlined above.
